ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ANALYSIS ENOTE:• When measuring the peak voltage, set theselector to the DC voltage mode.• Make sure the peak voltage adapter leadare properly installed in the digital tester.• Make sure the positive pin (the “+” markfacing up as shown) on the peak voltageadapter is installed into the positiveterminal of the digital tester.• The test harness is needed for the followingtests.Measuring steps:(1)Connect the peak voltage adapterprobes to the connectors.(2)Start or crank the engine and observethe measurement.MEASURING A LOW RESISTANCEWhen measuring a resistance of 10 W or lesswith the digital tester, the correctmeasurement cannnot be obtained bacauseof the tester’s internal resistance.To be obtain the correct value, subtract theinternal resisitance from the displayedmeasurement.NOTE:The internal resisitance of the digital testercan be obtained by connecting both of itsprobes.Correct value:Displayed measurement-internal resistance8-5
