3-32Modifying STP Interface ParametersThe STP Interface Parameters Modify Page allows network managers to modify STP parameters tospecific interfaces.Click Device > Spanning Tree > Modify. The STP Interface Parameters Modify Page opens.Figure 3-35 STP Interface Parameters Modify PageThe STP Interface Parameters Modify Page contains the following fields:Table 3-26 STP Interface Parameters Modify Page item descriptionItem DescriptionSTPSpecifies if STP is enabled on the port. The possible field values are:z No Change: Retains the current port status.z Enabled: Indicates that STP is enabled on the port.z Disabled: Indicates that STP is disabled on the port. This is the defaultvalue.Port FastSpecifies if Fast Link is enabled on the port. If Fast Link mode is enabled fora port, the port is automatically placed in the Forwarding state when the portlink is up. Fast Link optimizes the STP protocol convergence. STPconvergence takes 30 seconds and is not dependent on the number ofswitches in the network. The possible field values are:z No Change: Retains the current port status.z Enabled: Indicates fast link is enabled on the port.z Disabled: Indicates fast link is disabled on the port. This is the defaultvalue.Root GuardRestricts the interface from acting as the root port of the switch. The possiblefield values are:z No Change: Retains the current port status.z Enabled: Indicates Root Guard is enabled on the port.z Disabled: Indicates Root Guard is disabled on the port. This is the defaultvalue.Default Path CostSpecifies if Default Path Cost is enabled. The possible field values are:z No Change: Retains the current port status.z Enabled: Enables the default path cost on the port. This is the defaultvalue.z Disabled: Disables the default path cost on the port.
