Then, upon receiving an integer ID assigned by the RADIUSauthentication server, the switch adds the port to the VLAN whose VLAN ID isequal to the assigned integer ID. If no such a VLAN exists, the switch first createsa VLAN with the assigned ID, and then adds the port to the newly created VLAN.z String: If the RADIUS server assigns string type of VLAN IDs, you can set theVLAN assignment mode to string on the switch. Then, upon receiving a string IDassigned by the RADIUS authentication server, the switch compares the ID withexisting VLAN names on the switch. If it finds a match, it adds the port to thecorresponding VLAN. Otherwise, the VLAN assignment fails and the user cannotpass the authentication. The two dynamic VLAN assignment modes, integer and string, supported by the switchare set according to the authentication server. Different authentication servers adoptdifferent dynamic VLAN assignment modes, you are recommended to configure thedevice according to the dynamic VLAN assignment mode in use.Table 1-3 lists some common dynamic VLAN assignment modes.Table 1-3 Common dynamic VLAN assignment modesServer type Dynamic VLAN assignment modeCAMS Integer (the latest version is determined by theattribute)ACS StringFreeRADIUS Determined by the attribute (100 is integer;“100” is string)Shiva Access Manager StringSteel-Belted Radius Administrator String
