V6100 and V7122 User Guide 463Stage 4: InstallationNow you have the boot media which enables the installation of the V6100 using the serialconnection (terminal) with RS-232 cable.To complete the installation, follow these 9 steps:1 Connect your Windows™ PC via serial cable to the V6100.2 Connect the USB CD ROM device via USB cable to the V6100.3 Power up the PC.4 Open the Terminal application (e.g. HyperTerminal) on your Windows™ PC. Create anew connection with the following settings: Connect Port = COM1 Baudrate = 115200 (bits per second) Data Bits = 8 Parity = None Stop Bits = 1 Flow Control = None5 Insert the “Boot CD” (created in Stage 3) into the USB CD-ROM.6 Power up the V6100.7 On the Terminal application, the BIOS phase will start and the LinuxTM installation willbegin. The installation will uncompress the kernel, load it and its drivers and start theinteractive installation.After the BIOS phase, some badly formatted text may appear on the screen.8 The first interactive screen should be “Choose a Language”.
