CSX7000 Guide26 CyberSWITCHR EMOTE C ONSOLE C ONNECTIONTo support a remote SNMP administration console, connect the CSX7000 to the Local AreaNetwork (LAN) via the LAN connector on the EMS processor board. Note that this is a 10-Base Tconnection.CONNECTIONS FOR SYSTEM MONITORINGIn order for the EMS to properly operate, you must set up the EMS bus (or data highway) to provideconnection from the IES of each subsystem to the EMS processor. With a single CSX7000, there isno daisy-chained data highway. Yet the subsystem’s IES must still be connected to the EMSprocessor. To make this connection, perform the following:• Connect the two RJ-11 connectors labeled IES OUT and IES SUPERVISOR IN (on the rear pan-el), using the IES-compatible cable supplied with the CSX7000. (The cable is marked.)• Terminate the highway by properly setting switch 1 (under the IES IN/OUT connectors) toON. The switch is ON when it is pointing to the left when viewed from the rear panel. Switch2 is not used.POWER SUPPLY CONNECTIONSThe CSX7000 has two separate power supplies to provide fault tolerance in the event of a singlepower failure. For the utmost protection, connect each of the two supplies (labeled PS1 and PS2 onthe rear panel) to a different AC power source. To help prevent accidental disconnection, we provide a strain relief bar for each dual power cordpair. (This strain relief bar ships with the power cords preattached.) To install, remove the screws tothe immediate right of the AC power outlets on the back panel of the CSX7000. Align strain reliefbar with the exposed holes, and attach bar with screws. Then plug attached power cords into unit.CAUTION: 1 MINUTEPOWER OFF REQUIRED INOUTIESVIDEOOUTVIDEOINERS / FTIES SUPERVISORIN OUTPowerInstall power cordstrain relief hereStrain Relief Barfor power cords
