CSX7000 Guide58 CyberSWITCHS OFTWARE INSTALLATIONThe EMS software installation is a multi-part process. It includes:• CMOS setup• hard disk drive initialization• DOS 6.22 installation• BCVision installation and SNMP Agent supportCMOS SETUPBefore performing disk drive functions, the EMS processor requires CMOS memory setup for theproper disk drive type:1. Power on the CSX7000. The error message no hard disk should be displayed.2. Press and hold the key during boot up. This invokes the CMOS setup utility.3. Accept all default parameters until you reach the Standard Setup section. This is where youdefine the hard disk parameter for EMS use.4. In the Standard Setup area, tab down to Hard Disk C: Type field.5. Select type 47=User, and enter the disk drive parameters: cylinders, heads, wprecomp, landingzone, sectors.6. Press when complete.7. Exit and save CMOS settings. The system will reboot and display an error of no boot sector ormissing operating system.HARD DISK DRIVE I NITIALIZATION AND DOS INSTALLATIONThe disk must be initialized for use with DOS 6.22:1. Power on the CSX7000.2. Press the ENABLE VIDEO control button.3. Select the EMS processor (using the BC GROUP buttons) for display on the Local Console. (Thesystem groups are identified by number. They are numbered in the backplane from left toright). An error message of no boot sector or missing operating system may be displayed. Note:This process will also select the flexible diskette drive for use with the EMS processor.4. Install the DOS 6.22 Setup diskette in the flexible diskette drive.5. Press the BC RESET button to reboot the EMS processor with the DOS 6.22 diskette.6. Follow the MS-DOS prompts to run the Setup utility. The EMS processor should reboot at theend of the DOS 6.22 installation.
