CSX7000 Guide44 CyberSWITCHSetupUse this function to configure each platform. Once you’ve selected this option, you are promptedto select a data highway Id number. BCVision then lists the subsystem type and processor locations. You can then specify the following options:• number of power supplies to be monitored• number of fans to be monitored• "other" options (Group, Floppy, Keyboard power; Speaker On)Choose Setup from the Functions Menu. When this function is selected, BCVision determines thevalidity of the software running on the IES. The BCVision software revision must match the IESsoftware installed on the IES. If there is no match, BCVision prompts you to transfer new softwareto the IES.When prompted for the data highway id number, enter the number (1 to 31) set on the hardwareswitch of the IES to be configured. If this IES has been configured previously, its current setup willdisplay. Refer to the following screen illustrations:Specify the number of power supplies that are to be monitored by the IES. You may select Power1, Power 2, or both. No selection means no power supplies are to be monitored. An alarm isgenerated if a power supply fails.Specify the number of fans that are to be monitored by the IES. This field defaults to two. An alarmwill be generated if a fan fails.Other miscellaneous options include:• Floppy Power: Each platform contains a flexible disk drive fuse. If this option is configured, analarm is generated if this fuse fails.• Keyboard Power: Each platform contains a keyboard fuse (or circuit breaker). If this option isconfigured, an alarm is generated if the keyboard fuse fails.• Speaker On: Each platform is equipped with a speaker. If the speaker is enabled, it will soundin the event of an IES alarm.Scan Data HighwayDuring a data highway scan, the BCVision program attempts to communicate with each IES.BCVision builds an internal list of all sensors found during an initial scan. If an IES responds, it isadded to the list; otherwise a communication timeout occurs and BCVision proceeds to the nextIES. BCVision will poll each IES on this list for status and alarm conditions.
