CSX7000 67APPENDIX C: PROCESSOR M ODULE I NSTALLATIONSoftware SetupThe procedure to run the CMOS Setup information is as follows:1. Power on the CSX7000. An error message no hard disk should be displayed for the selectedProcessor Module board.2. Reset the processor module by pressing the BC RESET button.3. Press and hold the key during boot up. This will invoke the CMOS utility.4. In the Standard Setup section:• set the correct time and date.• tab down to Hard Disk C: . Type field.• Select type 47=User, and enter the disk drive parameters (cylinders, heads, wprecomp,landing zone, sectors).5. In the Advanced Setup section, disable mouse support.6. In the Chipset Setup section, disable Onboard PCI ethernet.7. In the Peripheral Setup section, disable serial port 2 and the parallel port.8. No changes need to be made to the Power Management Setup section. Press when done.9. Exit and save CMOS settings. The system will reboot and display an error of no boot sector ormissing operating system.HARD DISK DRIVE I NITIALIZATION AND DOS INSTALLATIONThe disk must be initialized for use with DOS 5.0.1. Power on the CSX7000.2. Select the Processor Module (using the BC GROUP buttons) for display on the Local Console.(The system groups are identified by number. They are numbered in the backplane from left toright). An error message of no boot sector or missing operating system may be displayed. Thisprocess will also select the flexible diskette drive for use with the Processor Module.3. Install the DOS 5.0 Setup diskette in the flexible diskette drive.4. Press the BC RESET button to reboot the PM processor with the DOS 5.0 diskette.5. Follow the MS-DOS prompts to run the Setup utility. The PM processor should reboot at theend of the DOS 5.0 installation.6. At the C:> prompt, type ver and press ENTER.7. Verify the version of DOS; it should now be 5.0.
