If you are driving in dusty/dirtyconditions, inspect the filter at each engineoil change.How to Inspect the EngineAir Cleaner/FilterTo inspect the air cleaner/filter, remove thefilter from the vehicle and lightly shake thefilter to release loose dust and dirt. If the filterremains caked with dirt, a new filter is required.To inspect or replace the filter, do the following:1. Loosen and remove the two screws on thetop of the engine air cleaner/filter cover.2. Lift up the outboard side of the cover at anangle while pulling toward you. This isnecessary due to the two hinges located onthe inboard side of the cover.362
