Remote Vehicle StartThe remote vehicle starting feature allows you tostart the engine from outside of the vehicle.It also starts up the vehicle’s automatic climatecontrol system. When the remote start system isactive, the climate control system will heatand cool the inside of the vehicle according to theprevious settings of the system before turningthe vehicle off. The rear window defogger will beturned on by the climate control system whenit is cold outside. If the vehicle has heated seats,they will also turn on. See Heated and CooledSeats on page 10 for additional information.Cooled seats are not activated during a remotestart. Normal operation of the climate controlsystem will return after the key is turned to RUN.See Dual Climate Control System on page 204.Laws in some communities may restrict the use ofremote starters. For example, some laws mayrequire a person using remote start to havethe vehicle in view when doing so. Check localregulations for any requirements on remote startingof vehicles.Do not use the remote start feature if your vehicleis low on fuel. Your vehicle may run out of fuel.Your RKE transmitter, with the remote start button,provides an increased range of operation.However, the range may be less while the vehicleis running.
