5–42 1765 Network Printer Configuration GuideNetWare Configuration Dialog BoxNEC 1765 Administration software allows you toconfigure the printer across networks. The NetWareConfiguration dialog box allows you to configure aSilentwriter on a NetWare network from a TCP/IP-based network operating system.The NetWare Configuration dialog box includes thefollowing information.MAC Address: Displays the LAN card’s networkaddress.Print Server Name: The print server name for theNetWare environment can be changed. You may useany combination of upper-case alphanumericcharacters, hyphens (-), and underscores (_) in theprint server name.File Server ConnectionLimited File Server: NetWare network operatingsystem software allows a single printer to connect tomultiple file servers. You can connect yourSilentwriter to up to 8 file servers. To limit theprinter to only one file server, enter the name of thefile server in the Limited File Server text box.note: Specifying a file server may improveperformance time as the NEC 1765 Administrationsoftware will no longer scan for file servers. You maywant to specify a limited file server even in single servernetworks.Scan for File Servers: Logs into the file server on aregular basis when this check box is selected.Scan Interval: Sets the frequency in seconds withwhich the Silentwriter scans to the file server. Therange is 1 to 255 minutes and the default is 5minutes. If a limited file server has been specified orScan for File Servers is turned off, the scan intervalis automatically set to 0 minutes.Saves changes and closes dialog boxDiscards changes and closes dialog boxOpens online help about this dialog box
