Select the printer you want to know about from thelist of printers in the Printer Administrationwindow.2. From the Printer Administration window click theLAN Card button.3. The LAN Card Configuration window displays theLAN card information.4. To leave the LAN Card Configuration window,select the Save or Close button.Changing the Printer Polling RateThe printer status polling rate determines how often theLAN card obtains information from the printer. It isdefined in tenths of a second. The default is 50 tenths ofa second and the rate can be set to 0 or to any number inthe range of 20 to 255 tenths of a second. If the printerpolling rate is 0, the printer status will not be updated.1. Select the printer you want to change from the list ofprinters in the Printer Administration window.2. From the Printer Administration window click theLAN Card button.3. The LAN Card Configuration window displays thecurrent polling rate.4. Type the new polling rate in the Printer PollingRate text box.5. Select the Save button to save the new informationand leave the LAN Card Parameters windowOrSelect the Close button to keep the old informationand leave the LAN Card Parameters window.Changing the Busy Timeout TimeThe printer busy timeout time is how long the LAN cardwaits for information from the printer before setting theprinter status to Busy. The busy timeout time is definedin seconds. The default is 15 seconds and the range is 15to 255 seconds.Follow these steps to change the printer busy timeouttime.1. Select the printer you want to change from the list ofprinters in the Printer Administration window.2. From the Printer Administration window click theLAN Card button.3. The LAN Card Configuration window displays thecurrent busy timeout time.4. Type the new delay time in the Busy Timeout textbox.5. Select the Save button to save the new informationand leave the LAN Card Configuration windowOrSelect the Close button to keep the old informationand leave the LAN Card Configuration window.note: Four values define how often updated statusand configuration information appear in the NEC 1765software displays. The printer polling rate and busytimeout time describe interactions between the LANcard and the Silentwriter. The status polling rate andresponse timeout describe interactions between theNEC 1765 software and the LAN card.
