In that case, incoming faxes aresaved directly to the PC’s disk without being printed. Ifthe PC is turned off or not functioning, the fax machineacts as a stand-alone fax machine and prints incomingfaxes when this PC/FAX SWITCH function is set to ON(default). If this function is set to OFF, the fax machinewill not accept incoming faxes when the PC is turned offor not functioning.23 ONE TOUCH PARAMThis function allows you to activate the Echo Protectionfeature for a specific One Touch key, without changing thenormal settings. Echo Protection can improvecommunication with a location in a noisy telephone area.For instructions on changing One Touch Parameterssettings for a One Touch key, refer to the “ProgrammingYour Speed Dial directory, One Touch Faxing” section ofthis handbook.Changing Your User Function Settings1 Press the Select Function key.2 Press the 9/User Program One Touch key.The display shows1:FUNC. PROGRAMMING.3 Press the Yes ß key. The display showsFUNCTION NO. [ ].4 Using the numeric keypad, enter the 2-digit number of thefunction you want to change. The display shows the nameof the selected function.5 Repeatedly press the No © key until the setting you wantappears in the display.! If you are changing the TX MODE DEFAULT settings,the new settings appear on the lights above the Yesßßßßßand the No©©©©© keys6 Press the Yes ß key to confirm your selection.
