|Handbook 59Remote Receive: User Function 17This function lets you use an attached phone to tell your faxmachine to switch from telephone to fax mode so it canreceive an incoming fax. Use the keypad of an externaltelephone to enter the remote receive number you haveprogrammed into your fax machine.In addition, if your fax machine is in TAD mode, a caller canenter the programmed remote receive number after leaving avoice message. This enables the fax machine to receive a faxfrom the caller. Refer to the “Answering Mode, Using YourFax with an Answering Machine [TAD]” section of thishandbook.Available settings are OFF (default), 00, 11, 22, 33, 44, 55,66, 77, 88, 99, **, and ##.PC/Fax Switch (MFP Option):User Function 22This function is active only when the Multifunction PrinterOption is installed and your fax machine is set to the PC Faxanswering mode. In that case, incoming faxes are saveddirectly to the PC’s disk without being printed. If the PC isturned off or not functioning, the fax machine acts as a stand-alone fax machine and prints incoming faxes when this PC/FAX SWITCH function is set to ON (default). If this functionis set to OFF, the fax machine will not accept incoming faxeswhen the PC is turned off or not functioning.Monitor Volume: User Function 06This function sets the volume for telephone line monitoringduring dialing. Available settings are LOW (default), HIGH,and OFF.Buzzer Volume: User Function 07This function sets the volume of the various tones your faxmachine emits during operation. Available settings are LOW,MIDDLE (default), and HIGH.
