Printing_ 160Printer Features• Reverse Duplex Printing: This option allows you to reverse theprint order when duplex printing.• RGB Color: This setting determines how colors are rendered.Standard is the most widely used setting which the color tone of thismode is the closest to that of standard monitor (sRGB Monitor).Vivid mode is appropriate for printing presentation data and charts.The color tone of Vivid mode produces more Vivid color imagesthan that of Standard mode. Device mode is best used for printingfine lines, small characters and color drawings. The color tone ofDevice mode may be different from that of monitor, the pure tonercolors are used for printing cyan, magenta and yellow colors.Corporate Imaging is most common color setting used in thecorporate environment.• Fine Edge: This option allows you to emphasize edges of texts andfine lines for improving readability.• Skip Blank Pages: This option allows you to specify not to printblank pages in the original data.• Screen: This option allows you to select options to convert acontinous-tone image into printable binary image.• Finishing: You can select the print output options such as staple,offset and etc. This option is available only when the optionalstandard finisher or booklet finisher is installed.• Booklet Printing: This feature prints your document on both sidesof a paper and arranges the pages so that the paper can be folded inhalf after printing to produce a booklet. Some options in BookletPrinting are available only when the optional stanard finisher orbooklet finisher is installed.• Front Cover: Prints the document with a front cover. The frontcover can be a blank paper or the first page in the document.• Back Cover: Prints the document with a back cover. The covers can be blank papers or the first and the lastpages in the document.• Transparency Separator: This option allows you to place a blanksheet between transparencies.Printing multiple pages on one sheet of paperYou can print more than one page on a single sheet of paper. This featureprovides a cost-effective way to print draft pages.1. Open an application, and select Print from the File menu.2. Select Layout from the drop-down list under Orientation. In the Pagesper Sheet drop-down list, select the number of pages you want to printon one sheet of paper.3. Select the other options you want to use.4. Click Print, then machine prints the selected number of pages you wantto print on one sheet of paper.Printing on both sides of paperYou can print on both sides of the paper. Before printing in the duplex mode,decide on which edge you will be binding your finished document. Thebinding options are, as follows:• Long-Edge Binding: This option is the conventional layout used inbook binding.• Short-Edge Binding: This option is the type often used with calendars.1. From your Macintosh application, select Print from the File menu.2. Select Layout from the drop-down list under Orientation.3. Select a binding orientation from Two-Sided option.4. Select the other options you want to use.5. Click Print and; the machine prints on both sides of the paper.If you print more than 2 copies, the first copy and the second copymight print on the same sheet of paper. Avoid printing on both sides ofpaper when you are printing more than 1 copy.
