122Chapter 7 Control SequencesControl SequencesThis section describes the escape sequences for entering and exiting theIndustrial Graphics Barcode/Block Character mode. The commands foraccessing related functions, such as selecting Normal or Double DensityBlock Characters, vertical or horizontal orientation of barcodes, line height,and others are also discussed. To properly use the Industrial Graphics option,the printer needs to be in the MT660 emulation.Print CyclesWhile in the Barcode/Block Character mode, print cycles occurs when either:• the buffer fills.• the home position is moved via a ^a Command, a Form Feed, VerticalTab, or VFU command.• the printer exits from the Barcode/Block Character mode (ESC[<41 where1 = lower-case L).Entering Barcode/Block ModeTo enter the Barcode/Block Character mode, send the following escapesequence:ESC [<4h ASCII1B 5B 3C 34 68 hexUpon each entry into the Barcode/Block Character mode, the following defaultconditions are established:• Home and cursor are initialized (see Home and Cursor later in thismanual).• Normal Density printing is selected for both the Barcode Submode andthe Block Character Submode.Once you are in the Barcode/block Character mode, changing a parameter inone Submode also changes that same parameter in the other Submode. Forexample, selecting Double Density in Block Characters also selects DoubleDensity in Barcode.Invalid CommandsThe following commands are invalid while in Barcode/Block Character Mode:• Index Forward• Index Reverse• Save Cursor Position• Restore Cursor Vertical Position
