The complete set of commands to turn Graphics andFree Format Mode On, send GPL commands and data, then turn Free Formatand Graphics Mode Off are shown below:^PY^- Turns on Graphics Mode^F^- Turns on Free Format Mode^ Sample GPL Command sequences^O^ Turns off Free Format Mode^PN^- Turns off Graphics ModeThe above lines are typically entered into a file and sent to the printer, or arewritten to the printer using a computer language such as BASIC or C withFree Format and Graphics mode on.The main reasons to turn Graphics mode off are:• To print a large amount of non-GPL data.• To reset the Code V to its default startup state.• To send plot data to the underlying emulation.The reamining chapters in this manual discusses how the GPL commandsequences should be formatted. For all subsequent examples in this manual,the following conditions are assumed:• The control panel displays ONLINE GRAPHICS.• Graphics Mode is ON (^PY^-).• The printer is in Free Format mode (^F^-).Multiple PassesA Graphics Pass may contain other GPL commands, including other ^M, ^U,^V, and ^E commands. The printer does not begin printing a Graphics passuntil the Pass is terminated. After a pass is printed, the next pass begins atthe bottom of the printed Pass.For example, the sequence of GPL commands^M0101000A^M0101000B^M0101000C^- produces the same printed resultas ^M0101000ABC^- which prints:whereas the three graphics Passes ^M0101000A^-^M0101000B^-^M0101000C^- print:
