22-8 Setting up Network ServersFiery EX2101 on a NetWare networkThe NetWise™ features built into the Fiery EX2101 support the following networkoperating environments:• NetWare—NDS (Novell Directory Services)• Servers running NetWare in bindery emulation modeThe term “Netware” is used to refer to Netware 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x.For Ethernet-based networks, the IPX/SPX protocol is supported.N OTE : Setting up a NetWare environment correctly requires the presence and activecooperation of the Novell network administrator. You must have administratorprivileges on the network to create new NDS or bindery objects. The term “bindery server” is used to refer to a Novell file server running NetWare inbindery emulation mode. The term “NDS” is used to describe components of aNetWare operating system running NetWare in native mode.NetWare clients print to the Fiery EX2101 through the Novell network server. Serversetup and client network setup are outlined in this chapter, client printing setup isdescribed in the User Software Installation Guide, and printing is described in thePrinting Guide. The Fiery EX2101 can receive print jobs from NetWare servers over Ethernet networktopologies. During Fiery EX2101 Setup, you select the frame type or types that will beused for communication between the Fiery EX2101 and network servers. Frame typerefers to the format of a communications packet.
