171Configure LPD1. Open your Web browser and enter the TCP/IP address of the Device in the Address or Location field.Press Enter.2. Click the Properties tab.3. Click the plus symbol (+) to the left of Connectivity, then the Protocols file folder.4. Select LPD in the directory tree.5. The available selections include:Port Number, with a default value of 515. As this is the port for the TCP Spooler assigned by the IANA(Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), the default value should not need to be changed.A TBCP Filter checkbox (displayed when PostScript is enabled).Connection Time-Out entry box.Maximum Number of Sessions: Enter the maximum number of simultaneously connected hosts for thisinterface (or accept the default value).6. Enter a Time Out value for jobs being sent to the Device through this Port. This is the length of timethat the Controller will wait for an end of job command before printing the current job.7. Click the Apply button to accept the changes, or the Undo button to return the settings to theirprevious values.Note: Changes to settings are not applied until you restart the Device. A Reboot Machine button isavailable on the Status Tab of Internet Services.Configure SNMPIt is possible to remotely define and modify GET (Read Only), SET (Read/Write), and Trap SNMP (SimpleNetwork Management Protocol) community names for the Device. You can also enter the SystemAdministrator's Name here for packet identification purposes.SNMP Community Name properties that can be configuredCommunity Name (Read Only)—This is the password for SNMP GET requests from the SNMP Managerto the Agent in the Device. Applications, such as Xerox Printer Map or CentreWare Conductor, obtaininginformation from the device by SNMP use this password.Community Name (Read/Write)—This is the password for SNMP SET requests from the SNMP Managerto the Agent in the Device.
