173Configure IPP1. Open your Web browser and enter the TCP/IP address of the Device in the Address or Location field.Press Enter.2. Click the Properties tab.3. Click the plus (+) symbol to the left of Connectivity, then the Protocols file folder.4. Select IPP in the directory tree.5. The available selections include:Port Number Static Display, with a default value of 631. This is the port number assigned by IANA(Internet Assigned Numbers Authority.Additional Port Number entry box. You can enter port 80 (HTTP) here as a backup port.A TBCP Filter checkbox (displayed when PostScript is enabled).Administrator Mode checkbox. This is disabled by default. Consult the On-Line Help for use of thisfeature.DNS checkbox.Connection Time-out entry box.6. Verify that the DNS checkbox is checked (enabled) by default. If enabled, the DNS Server will beavailable to resolve Host Names to IP Addresses, in support of printing with IPP.7. Enter a Connection Time Out value for jobs being sent to the Device through this Port. This is thelength of time that the Controller will wait for an end of job command before printing the current job.8. Click the Apply button to accept changes, or the Undo button to return settings to their previousvalues. Note: Setting changes are not applied until you restart the Device. There is a convenientReboot Machine button on the Status tab of Internet Services.Modify the HTTP (Internet Services) Settings1. If you do this you will have to have a digital certificateinstalled on the device, as stated in the Security – Encryption section of this guide.Secure HTTP Port Number – HTTP traffic will be routed to this port when using HTTP with SSLencryption.6. In the Maximum Connections entry box, accept the default value, or enter a number for the maximumnumber of hosts (networked workstations) that can be connected to the Device's HTTP Server(Internet Services web pages) at one time.7. In the Connection Time-Out entry box, accept the default value, or enter the number of seconds thata browser connection can remain open without any activity.
