C.3 Connecting to a NetworkThis section explains how to connect the Z1000 Bypass to a BACnet network and the network termination required for aconnection.u Network Cable ConnectionFollow the instructions below to connect the Z1000 Bypass to a BACnet network.1. With the power shut off, connect the communications cable to the bypass and the master. Use terminal TB3 forBACnet.TB34321SHLDTXRX-TXRX+IG5ShieldTransmit/Receive (-)Transmit/Receive (+)Isolated Ground ReferenceFigure C.2 Serial Communications Cable Connection Terminal (TB3)Note: Separate the communications cables from the main circuit cables and other wiring and power cables. Use shielded cables forthe communications cables, and properly shielded clamps to prevent problems caused by electrical interference.2. Check or set the termination resistor selection at all slaves. Use the description in Network Termination on page363 for slaves that are Z1000 Bypasses.3. Switch the power on.4. Set the parameters needed for serial communications (Z3-01 through Z3-09) using the digital operator.5. Shut the power off and wait until the display on the digital operator goes out completely.6. Turn the power back on.7. The Z1000 Bypass is now ready to begin communicating with the master.C.3 Connecting to a Network362 YASKAWA ELECTRIC SIEP YAIZ1B 01E YASKAWA AC Drive – Z1000 Bypass Technical Manual
