1018 CHAPTER 62: IPV6 BGP CONFIGURATIONConfiguring a PreferredValue for Routes from aPeer/Peer GroupFollow these steps to configure a preferred value for routes received from apeer/peer group:c CAUTION: If you both reference a routing policy and use the command peer{ ipv6-group-name | ipv6-address } preferred-value value to set a preferred valuefor routes from a peer, the routing policy sets a non-zero preferred value forroutes matching it. Other routes not matching the routing policy uses the value setwith the command. If the preferred value in the routing policy is zero, the routesmatching it will also use the value set with the command. For information aboutusing a routing policy to set a preferred value, refer to the command peer{ group-name | ipv4-address | ipv6-address } route-policy route-policy-name{ import | export } in this document, and the command apply preferred-valuepreferred-value in “Routing Policy Configuration” on page 991.Specifying a LocalUpdate Source Interfaceto a Peer/Peer GroupFollow these steps to specify a local update source interface connected to a peer:n ■ To improve stability and reliability, you can specify the local interface of an IPv6BGP connection as loopback interface. By doing so, a connection failure uponredundancy availability will not affect IPv6 BGP connection.■ To establish multiple BGP connections to an IPv6 BGP router, you need tospecify on the local router the respective source interfaces for establishing TCPconnections to the peers on the peering BGP router; otherwise, the local BGPEnter BGP view bgp as-number RequiredEnter IPv6 address family view ipv6-family -Add a local route into IPv6BGP routing tablenetwork ipv6-addressprefix-length [ short-cut |route-policyroute-policy-name ]RequiredNot added by defaultTo do...
