396 CHAPTER 20: PPP O E CONFIGURATIONFor more information on the configuration of PPPoE session on virtual Ethernetinterface, refer to the relevant part of PPPoEoA configuration in “ATM and DSLInterface Configuration” on page 71 in Access Manual.Configuration Procedure Follow these steps to configure PPPoE client:n Depending on your requirement, you may need to configure PPP authenticationetc on dialer interface. For detailed description on how to configure a dialerinterface, refer to “DCC Configuration” on page 153.Resetting/Deleting aPPPoE SessionIntroduction to resetting/deleting a PPPoE sessionThe device supports two kinds of PPPoE connection mode: permanent on-linemode and packet triggering mode.■ Permanent on-line mode: When the physical line is up, the device will quicklyinitiate PPPoE call to create a PPPoE session. The PPPoE session will always existunless the user deletes it.■ Packet triggering mode: When the physical line is up, the device will notimmediately initiate PPPoE call. Only when there is data transmissionrequirement will the router initiate PPPoE call to create a PPPoE session. If thefree time of a PPPoE link exceeds the value set by user, the router willautomatically terminate the PPPoE session.Resetting/deleting a PPPoE sessionFollow these steps to reset/delete a PPPoE session:To do...
