Configuring NAT-PT 683Follow these steps to configure mappings for IPv4 hosts accessing IPv6 hosts:n ■ The natpt-prefix argument specified in the natpt v6bound dynamic prefixnatpt-prefix interface interface-type interface-number command must havebeen configured with the natpt prefix command.■ For ACL configuration, refer to “Configuring ACLs” on page 1881.Configuring Mappingsfor IPv6 Hosts AccessingIPv4 HostsMappings for IPv6 hosts accessing IPv4 hosts refer to the IPv6-to-IPv4 NAT ofpackets. When a packet is sent from an IPv6 network to IPv4 network, the sourceIPv6 address is translated to an IPv4 address in accordance with the configuredmappings. There are static and dynamic mappings for IPv6 hosts accessing IPv4 hosts.■ A static IPv6-to-IPv4 mapping is used to translate a source IPv6 address into acorresponding IPv4 address.■ A dynamic IPv6-to-IPv4 mapping means that if the source IPv6 addresscomplies with the rule of an IPv6 ACL or the destination IPv6 address contains aNAT-PT prefix, the source IPv6 address will be translated into an IPv4 address inthe specified NAT-PT address pool or an IPv4 address of the specified interface. The device provides four types of dynamic mappings.■ Combination 1: Combination of an IPv6 ACL with an address poolIf the source IPv6 address of a packet matches the specified IPv6 ACL, the sourceIPv6 address will be translated into an IPv4 address of the specified address pool.■ Combination 2: Combination of an IPv6 ACL with an interface addressIf the source IPv6 address of a packet matches the specified IPv6 ACL, the sourceIPv6 address will be translated into an IPv4 address of the specified interface.■ Combination 3: Combination of a NAT-PT prefix with an address poolIf the destination IPv6 address of a packet contains a NAT-PT prefix, the source IPv6address will be translated into an IPv4 address of the specified address pool.To do...Use thecommand...
