For a successful installation, study the SCO systemmanuals thoroughly. The required drivers can be created from the RAID Software SuiteCD-ROM.7.1 General Installation NotesThis section identifies the minimum hardware and software required to successfullyinstall the ICP RAID controller with the accompanying RAID Software Suite. Ensure thatyou have completed the steps described in Chapter 2, “Getting Started,” before beginningthe installation described in this chapter.7.1.1 Minimum Hardware RequirementsFor detailed hardware requirements, specifications, and installation procedures specific toyour ICP RAID controller, consult the Hardware Guide.7.1.1.1 Computer System Requirements• Computer with CD-ROM Drive (not attached to the ICP RAID controller)• One available PCI slot• ICP RAID controller• PCI 2.2 compliant system BIOS• SCSI hard disk drives (the minimum needed to meet desired RAID level requirements)Note: If the ICP RAID controller is configured with removable SDRAM, be sure that the DIMMis installed in the adapter prior to use. (Ensure that the optional battery backup isdisconnected during any installation or removal of the DIMM). Not all adapters areconfigured with removable SDRAM or battery backup support.
