Connecting to the NetworkDLE22-MA, DLE32-MA, DLE23-MA and DLE33-MA User’s Guide 3-53.5 CONNECTING TO THE NETWORKThis section provides the procedures for connecting segments from thenetwork or other devices to the modules.Ports 1 through 24 on the DLE22-MA and DLE32-MA have RJ45connectors for twisted pair connections. Ports 1 through 24 on theDLE23-MA and DLE33-MA have RJ21 connectors for twisted pairconnections. Ports 25 and 26 of the DLE2X-MA support DELTX-UI,DELFX-UI, or DELF3-UI Fast Ethernet Interface Modules. TheDELTX-UI has an RJ45 connector for a Twisted Pair cable connection. The DELFX-UI has an SC style connector for a multimode fiber opticcable connection. The DELF3-UI has an SC style connector for a singlemode fiber optic cable connection.Refer to Section 3.5.1 to make twisted pair connections to ports 1 through24 of the DLE22-MA and DLE32-MA.Refer to Section 3.5.2 to make twisted pair connections to ports 1 through24 of the DLE23-MA and DLE33-MA.Refer to Section 3.5.3 to make a Twisted Pair connection to anDELTX-UI.Refer to Section 3.5.4 to make a fiber optic connection to an DELFX-UIor DELF3-UI.If the DLE2X-MA and DLE3X-MA are being installed in anetwork using SmartTrunking, there are rules concerning thenetwork cable and port configurations that must be followed forSmartTrunking to operate properly. Before connecting thecables refer to Section 5.20.1, SmartTrunk Configuration Rules, for the configuration information.
