Black plate (38,1)Cadillac STS Owner Manual - 2011CompassCompass OperationPress O to turn the compass on or off.When the ignition and the compass feature are on, themirror displays the compass heading after a fewseconds.Compass CalibrationIf after few seconds, the display does not show acompass heading (for example, N for North), there maybe a strong magnetic field interfering with the compass.Interference can be caused by a magnetic antennamount, magnetic note pad holder or a similar magneticitem. If the letter C should ever appear in the compasswindow, the compass may need calibration.The mirror can be calibrated by driving the vehicle incircles at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less until the display reads adirection.The compass can be placed in calibration modemanually by pressing and holding O until a C is shownin the compass display.Compass VarianceThe mirror is set to zone eight. If you do not live in zoneeight or drive out of the area, the compass varianceneeds to be changed to the appropriate zone.To adjust for compass variance:1. Find the current location and variance zonenumber on the following zone map.2. Press and hold O until a zone number displays.3-38
