This system coordinates automatic control ofthe Active Steering System, the Magnetic Ride ControlSuspension System, and the Brake Control System forbetter vehicle performance.During extreme cold temperature conditions, the activesteering function may be temporarily disabled whichmay cause the steering wheel to be offset from thecenter position while driving straight. This is normaloperation and the vehicle is safe to drive in thesecases.Stability control activates when the computer senses adifference between the intended path and the directionthe vehicle is actually traveling. Stability controlautomatically adjusts the front road wheel steeringangle, modifies the suspension stiffness, and selectivelyapplies braking pressure at any one of the vehicle’sbrakes to help maintain directional control of thevehicle. When the system activates, a STABILITY SYS ACTIVEmessage displays on the Driver Information Center(DIC). See DIC Warnings and Messages on page 4‑76.It is normal to hear a noise or feel vibration in the brakepedal when the system is working.
