It can be seenthrough the windshield from outside. The VIN alsoappears on the Vehicle Certification and Service Partslabels and certificates of title and registration.Engine IdentificationThe eighth character in the VIN is the engine code. Thiscode identifies the vehicle's engine, specifications, andreplacement parts. See “Engine Specifications” underCapacities and Specifications on page 6‑128 for thevehicle's engine code.Service Parts Identification LabelThis label, on the spare tire cover, has the followinginformation:. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Model designation. Paint information. Production options and special equipmentDo not remove this label from the vehicle.Electrical SystemAdd-On Electrical EquipmentNotice: Do not add anything electrical to the vehicleunless you check with your dealer first. Someelectrical equipment can damage the vehicle andthe damage would not be covered by the vehicle'swarranty. Some add-on electrical equipment cankeep other components from working as theyshould.Add-on equipment can drain the vehicle battery, even ifthe vehicle is not operating.6-114
