When EMM is needed, theEMM Request screen appears onthe center stack display at vehiclestart.If Start Maintenance is selected,EMM will begin. The engine will runfor a set amount of time withoutturning off. During EMM, a DICmessage displays to show theEMM percentage complete.If Postpone is selected, the EMMRequest screen will appear whenthe vehicle is next started. TheEMM request can be delayed foronly one day.If the EMM request was delayed forone day, EMM will automaticallystart the engine at the next vehiclestart. An EMM Notification screenwill appear in the center stackdisplay.If the vehicle shuts off during EMM,it will restart the next time thevehicle is driven. A messagedisplays to indicate that EMM isactive.If EMM is required and the fuel levelis low, EMM may eventually emptythe fuel tank if fuel is not added.This will result in reduced, or nopower. An adequate fuel level mustbe maintained in the vehicle to keepit operational. See Propulsion PowerMessages on page 5-48.Fuel Maintenance Mode (FMM)FMM tracks average fuel age. Oldfuel can cause engine problems.If low engine usage causes averagefuel age to exceed approximatelyone year, FMM will run the engine touse up the old fuel. The engine willrun until enough fresh fuel is addedto bring the average fuel age into anacceptable range. Allowing more oldfuel to be used up by FMM andadding a larger amount of fresh fuelwill maximize the length of timebefore another FMM is needed.During FMM the engine may turn onand off.
