When thevehicle is moving forward, the left-or right-side mirror display will lightup if a vehicle is detected in thatblind zone. If the turn signal isactivated in the same direction of adetected vehicle, this display willflash as an extra warning not tochange lanes.SBZA can be disabled throughvehicle personalization. See“Collision/Detection Systems” underVehicle Personalization onpage 5-52. If SBZA is disabled bythe driver, the SBZA mirror displayswill not light up.When the System Does NotSeem to Work ProperlySBZA may alert to objects attachedto the vehicle, such as a bicycle,or object extending out to either sideof the vehicle. This is normal systemoperation; the vehicle does not needservice.SBZA may not always alert thedriver to vehicles in the side blindzone, especially in wet conditions.The system does not need to beserviced. The system may light updue to guardrails, signs, trees,shrubs, and other non-movingobjects. This is normal systemoperation; the vehicle does not needservice.SBZA may not operate when theSBZA sensors in the left or rightcorners of the rear bumper arecovered with mud, dirt, snow, ice,or slush, or in heavy rainstorms. It mayprovide a warning if the vehicle iscrossing a detected lane markerwithout using a turn signal in thelane departure direction. LDW usesa camera sensor to detect the lanemarkings. It only operates at speedsof 56 km/h (35 mph) or greater.When the vehicle crosses adetected lane marking, the LDWindicator will flash and either threebeeps will be sounded from the leftor right side, or three Safety AlertSeat pulses will occur on the left or
