Black plate (4,1)Cadillac ELR Owner Manual (GMNA-Localizing-U.S./Canada-6081525) -2014 - crc - 10/8/132-4 Keys, Doors, and WindowsKeyless Unlocking fromPassenger DoorPress the door touch pad to unlockall doors and open the passengerdoor if the RKE transmitter is within1 m (3 ft).Passive LockingThis feature will lock the vehicleseveral seconds after all doors areclosed, if the vehicle is off and atleast one RKE transmitter has beenremoved from the interior or noneremain in the interior.To customize whether the doorsautomatically lock when exiting thevehicle, see “Passive Door Lock”under Vehicle Personalization onpage 5-52.Temporarily Disable PassiveLocking FeatureTemporarily disable the passivelocking by pressing and holding Kon the interior door switch with adoor open for at least four seconds,or until three chimes are heard.Passive locking will then remaindisabled until Q on the interior dooris pressed, or until the vehicle isturned on.To customize the doors toautomatically lock when exiting thevehicle, see “Remote Lock, Unlock,Start” under Vehicle Personalizationon page 5-52.Keyless Trunk OpeningPress the touch pad to open if theRKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft)and the doors are locked. If thedoors are unlocked, the transmitteris not required to open the trunk.Programming Transmitters tothe VehicleOnly RKE transmitters programmedto this vehicle will work. If atransmitter is lost or stolen, areplacement can be purchased andprogrammed through your dealer.The vehicle can be reprogrammedso that lost or stolen transmitters nolonger work. Each vehicle can haveup to eight transmitters programmedto it.Programming with a RecognizedTransmitterA new transmitter can beprogrammed to the vehicle whenthere is one recognized transmitter.1. The vehicle must be off and boththe recognized and newtransmitters must be with you.2. Remove the key base from therecognized RKE transmitter.3. Place the recognized transmitterin the cupholder.
