Parts have a break-inperiod and performance will bebetter in the long run.For the first 2 400 km (1,500 mi):. Avoid full throttle starts andabrupt stops.. Do not exceed 4000 engine rpm.. Avoid driving at any oneconstant speed, fast or slow.. Avoid downshifting to brake orslow the vehicle when theengine speed will exceed4000 rpm.. Do not let the engine labor.Never lug the engine in highgear at low speeds.. Do not participate in trackevents, sport driving schools,or similar activities during thisbreak-in period.. Check engine oil with everyrefueling and add if necessary.Oil and fuel consumption may behigher than normal during thefirst 2 400 km (1,500 mi).. To break in new tires, drive atmoderate speeds and avoid hardcornering for the first300 km (200 mi). New tires donot have maximum traction andmay tend to slip.. New brake linings also need abreak–in period. Avoid makinghard stops during the first300 km (200 mi).
