Putthe vehicle in P (Park) before exiting.Door Ajar MessagesDOOR OPENA door open symbol will be displayedon the DIC showing which door isopen. If the vehicle has been shiftedout of P (Park), a DOOR OPENmessage will also be displayed. TheDOOR OPEN message may also bedisplayed if the vehicle starts to move.Close the door completely.BONNET OPENThis message will display along with abonnet open symbol when the bonnetis open. A chime may also sound.Close the bonnet completely.BOOT LID OPENThis message will display along with asymbol when the boot is open. Closethe boot completely.Engine Cooling SystemMessagesA/C OFF DUE TO HIGHENGINE TEMPThis message displays when theengine coolant becomes hotter thanthe normal operating temperature. Toavoid added strain on a hot engine,the air conditioning compressorautomatically turns off. When thecoolant temperature returns tonormal, the air conditioningcompressor turns back on. The vehiclecan continue to be driven.If this message continues to appear,have the system repaired by yourdealer as soon as possible to avoiddamage to the engine.COOLANT LEVEL LOW ADDCOOLANTThis message will display if thecoolant is low. See EngineCoolant 0 253.ENGINE OVERHEATED — IDLEENGINEThis message displays when theengine coolant temperature is too hot.Stop and allow the vehicle to idle untilit cools down.ENGINE OVERHEATED — STOPENGINEThis message displays and acontinuous chime sounds if theengine cooling system reaches unsafetemperatures for operation. Stop andturn off the vehicle as soon as it issafe to do so to avoid severe damage.
