Turn theimage off by selecting another viewon the instrument cluster.Warm objects, such as pedestrians,animals, and other moving vehicles,should appear whiter on the NightVision display. Cold objects, such asthe sky, signs, and parked vehicles,should appear darker. Night Visiononly shows objects that are warmer orcolder than the surroundings. It doesnot detect brake lamps, indicatorsignals, hazard warning lights, trafficlights, or sign information.Use this system as an aid byoccasionally glancing at the image. Donot stare at the image or use theimage under well-lit conditions.{ WarningDo not stare at the image whiledriving as this might causeimportant objects ahead not to beseen. You could crash, and you orothers could be injured.When a pedestrian or large animal isdetected, an amber box displaysaround the pedestrian or animal onthe Night Vision display and an amberpedestrian icon, ~, or animalicon, !, displays on the instrumentcluster. This pedestrian icon is alsoshown on the Head-Up Display (HUD).When the system detects the vehicleis approaching a pedestrian much tooquickly, the amber box turns red, anda red flashing icon, ~, displays on theHUD with rapid beeping or pulsing ofthe Safety Alert Seat, if equipped.System pedestrian icons, beeps, and(if equipped) Safety Alert Seat pulsescan be set to Off through vehiclepersonalisation by turning off theFront Pedestrian Braking system. If the pedestrian or animal ismoving too quickly throughthe field of view, such as abicyclist.. If the pedestrian is wearingcertain types of clothing.. If headlights are off, exceptwhen parked..
