Recovering Nozzles by AMSIntroductionAfter checking nozzle performance and determining that automatic printhead maintenance isnecessary, perform the following procedure.Procedure1. From the Maintenance tab / Maintenance Tools menu, select Auto-Maintenance.2. Decide what color channels require automatic printhead maintenance.3. Select Standard maintenance on the required color channels.4. Reprint the nozzle check and evaluate results. Repeat Nozzle Recovery with the AMS, if necessary.5. Repeat steps 1 to 3 if necessary.NOTEIn most cases a non-working nozzle is temporary and should be resolved through theStandard AMS procedure. Many times a nozzle will recover on its own during printing. If a nozzle does not recover through standard AMS practices it may be necessary torecover the nozzle by swabbing (see the next section). If swabbing does not recover anozzle you can return here and try a Long AMS. However, the purpose of the LongAMS is to push out any air bubbles that have accumulated in the ink reservoir. TheLong AMS is a 10 second purge while the Standard is 3 seconds.NOTEThe No purge option is for the White channel only. It can be used when there isdifficulty in recovering white nozzles. It works by only using the AMS vacuum to suckink from the nozzles but does not push ink through from the reservoir as the regularAMS does.Recovering Nozzles by AMS156 Chapter 9 - Printer Maintenance
