Create BatchEdit Batch(appears when abatch job is loa-ded)In the Batch Mode Operation individual print jobs are sent from the RIP tothe printer, and then combined on the printer to create a batch job for flat-bed printing. There are two types of batch mode jobs: Composite and Col-lation.In a Composite batch all images are printed on a single piece of mediawithout interruption. Composite batch mode can be used to efficiently printmore than three data layers and/or mix print modes for a batch job.A Collation batch prints a set of individual print jobs on individual pieces ofmedia, and then repeats the number of copies of the set, as required. Thegantry moves to the park position between each print job, the media ischanged, and media thickness confirmation and pushing the start button isrequired to continue printing the next copy.Refer toBatch Mode Printing on page 106 for more details and examples.5) Command Toolbar rightDisplays icons for ink temperature, lamp control, vacuum pumps, vacuum settings , move thegantry, start/pause print jobs, and print a nozzle check. Note that some of the icons have achecked and unchecked state with a different appearance of the icon image to reflect their state.Ink TemperatureControlThis icon displays the current ink temperature. The ink heater must be onat all times.The printheads must be at operating temperature (45°C / 113°F) before ajob will start printing.NOTEIf this button is flashing, it indicates an error. Click on the Ink Sta-tus button to check the ink system.UV Curing LampControlThis icon controls the UV curing lamps. The state of the button reflects thestate of the lamps. The UV lamps will timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity(time can be changed by a service technician). If lamps are extinguishedwhen the timeout expired, then the button changes its status to unchecked.If lamps are off before the print starts, then lamps are turned on automati-cally and the button would reflect the state accordingly.Table vacuumpumpsThis icon controls if the pumps are On or Off. The icon reflects the actualstate of the vacuum pumps. There is no automatic timeout so the Pumpswill stay on until turned off.IMPORTANTOnce turned off, vacuum cannot be turned on again for approxi-mately 5 seconds. Frequent restarts may trip pump circuit break-ers.Vacuum This icon activates the table vacuum with the current settings.Vacuum settings This icon lets the operator select which of the three pumps are active andalso decide what level of venting is available to determine the strength ofthe vacuum (seeOperating the Vacuum System on page 95 for details). 4Print Job Control ModuleChapter 3 - How to Navigate the User Interface 65
