518 Configuring RoutingArea ConfigurationThe OSPF Area Configuration page lets you create a Stub area configuration and NSSA once you’veenabled OSPF on an interface through Routing →OSPF →Interface Configuration. At least one routermust have OSPF enabled for this web page to display. To display the page, click Routing →OSPF →Area Configuration in the tree view. If a Stub Area hasbeen created, the fields in the Stub Area Information are available. If a NSSA has been created, the fieldsin the NSSA Area Information are available.Figure 9-7. OSPF Area ConfigurationThe OSPF Area Configuration page displays the following fields:• Area — Select the area to be displayed from the drop-down menu. When an area is selected, fields inthe Stub Area Information are displayed.• Area ID — The OSPF area. An Area ID is a 32-bit integer in dotted decimal format that uniquelyidentifies the area to which a router interface connects.• External Routing — A definition of the router's capabilities for the area, including whether or not AS-external-LSAs are flooded into/throughout the area. If the area is a stub area, then these are thepossible options for which you may configure the external routing capability, otherwise the only optionis Import External LSAs.• SPF Runs — The number of times that the intra-area route table has been calculated using this area'slink-state database. This is typically done using Dijkstra's algorithm.• Area Border Router Count — The total number of area border routers reachable within this area. Thisis initially zero, and is calculated in each SPF Pass.• Area LSA Count — The total number of link-state advertisements in this area's link-state database, excluding AS External LSAs.
