56Section 4Cell PhoneReferenceDTMF GPS Location ReportingThe NavTalk Pilot can transmit information aboutyour geographic location to another NavTalk, NavTalkPilot or other type device that can interpret DTMF tonesto plot your GPS position. You can also record a GPSposition from another unit and store that location in theGPS receiver data storage. Refer to pages 50 and 130 forRemote Command feature programming for querying aposition report using an active call.To report your GPS Position:1. Make certain the GPS receiver is operating andcollecting current data.2. Connect to the reporting destination using thePhone portion of the NavTalk Pilot.3. When contact has been made (your call has beenanswered) press and hold the SEND key for morethan one second to send your position via DTMFtones... or press MENU and select ‘Send Location’... or use the ”T” code in your dialing string andthen press ENTER.To receive a GPS Position Report:1. Connect to the reporting caller using the Phoneportion of the NavTalk Pilot.2. Press MENU and select ‘Query Location’ from theDialing Page... or use the “Q” code in your dialingstring.3. When the new position is received, a pop-upmessage, ‘Do you want to save the PHONEwaypoint?’ will appear. Press ENTER to confirmand the new PHONE waypoint will be displayed.If you have already received a previous PositionReport and have not renamed it in order to save it, theincoming Position Report will overwrite it. Be certain torename and save positions you want to keep for later use.When you pressENTER to confirm thePHONE waypoint itwill be centered on theMap Page. If youwant to navigate to thePHONE waypoint,press the #/GOTOkey, cursor to thePHONE waypoint andpress ENTER. Thephone number willappear just behind thePHONE waypoint.
