Service Manual February 2017Checklist C Procedures50 S-80 • S-85 • S-80X Part No. 1259369GTC-5Check and Adjust the EngineRPMGenie specifications require that this procedure beperformed every 500 hours or six months,whichever comes first.Maintaining the engine rpm at the proper setting forboth low and high idle is essential to good engineperformance and service life. The machine will notoperate properly if the rpm is incorrect andcontinued use may cause component damage.Not applicable to these models:Continental TME27 ModelDeutz TD 2.9 L4 ModelPerkins 404F-22T ModelNote: The engine rpm is controlled by the ECM andcan only be adjusted by re-programming the ECM.If rpm adjustment or service is required, pleasecontact Genie Product Support.Deutz TD2011L04i Model:1 Connect a tachometer to the engine. Start theengine from the ground controls and check therpm. Refer to Specifications, EngineSpecifications.Deutz models1 low idle adjustment screw2 yoke3 high idle adjustment nutSkip to step 4 if the low idle rpm is correct.2 Loosen the locknut on the low idle adjustmentscrew.3 Adjust the low idle adjustment screw until lowidle meets specification. Tighten the locknut.4 Push and hold the function enable/high speedbutton. Note the engine rpm on the display.Refer to Specifications, Engine Specifications.If the high idle is correct, disregard adjustmentstep 5.5 Loosen the yoke lock nut. Turn the high idleadjustment nut and solenoid bootcounterclockwise to increase the rpm orclockwise to decrease the rpm. Tighten theyoke lock nut and recheck the rpm.Note: Be sure the solenoid fully retracts whenactivating high idle.
