Service Manual February 2017Checklist D Procedures60 S-80 • S-85 • S-80X Part No. 1259369GTD-3Check the Turntable RotationBearing BoltsGenie specifications require that this procedure beperformed every 1000 hours or annually,whichever comes first.Maintaining proper torque on the turntable bearingbolts is essential to safe machine operation.Improper bolt torque could result in an unsafeoperating condition and component damage1 Start the engine from the platform controls andextend the axles.2 Turn the key switch to ground controls.3 Raise the boom and place a safety chock onthe lift cylinder rod. Carefully lower the boomonto the lift cylinder safety chock.Crushing hazard. Keep handsaway from the cylinder and allmoving parts when lowering theboom.Note: The lift cylinder safety chock is availablethrough Genie Parts Department.4 Remove the center turntable cover retainingfasteners. Remove the cover.5 Confirm that each turntable mounting bolt istorqued in sequence to specification. Refer toSpecifications, Machine TorqueSpecifications.Bolt torque sequence6 Install the center turntable cover and tightenthe retaining fasteners.7 Raise the boom and remove the safety chock.8 Lower the boom to the stowed position.9 Torque the lower bearing mounting boltsunder the drive chassis in sequence tospecification. Refer to Specifications, MachineTorque Specifications.
