839CONNECTIONS AND MAINTENANCEMounting the transceiver■Using the supplied mounting bracketDThe universal mounting bracket supplied with your transceiv-er allows overhead or dashboard mounting.Mount the bracket securely to a surface which is more thanq10 mm thick and can support more than 5 kg using the 2supplied screws (5 × 20 mm).Attach the transceiver to the bracket so that the face of thewtransceiver is at 90° to your line of sight when operating it.KEEP the transceiver and microphone at least 1 meteraway from the vessel’s magnetic navigation compass.NOTE: Check the installation angle; the function displaymay not be easy-to-read at some angles.NOTE฀for฀the฀IC-M323G/IC-M324G:฀IC-M323G/IC-M324G’s GPS is located at the right top ofthe front panel.If the transceiver is covered with any object that inteeruptsthe GPS signals from the satelites, the GPS receiver willnot culculate its position.Therefore, when you using the GPS feature, be sure thetransceiver is positioned so the antenna has a clear viewto receive signals from satellites.• OVERHEAD MOUNTING• MOUNTING ON THE BOARDThese bolts are shown amounting example only.Not supplied with accesso-ries.12345678910111213141516
