3 Optional Features10The Radio Password protects the use of thetransceiver.This function prevents the transceiver from beingused by unauthorized persons.When the Password function is activated, you mustenter the correct password in order to use thetransceiver.Program the Password with up to 6 digits using thenumbers 1 ~ 4.“PASSWORD” appears when turning the transceiverON, when the Radio Password is programmed.• Entering the Password Using the KeypadMicrophone (KMC-32):Enter the Password using the keypad, then andpress the [#] key.• Entering the Password Using the transceiverkeys:Enter the password using [MON], [SCN], [ ], and[|] keys, then press the [CH DOWN] key.[MON], [SCN], [ ], and [|] keys represents thefollowing numbers.[MON] = 1[SCN] = 2[ ] = 3[|] = 43.2.5 Data PasswordThis function prevents the operating frequencies andconfiguration data from being read by unauthorizedpersons, when the transceiver is stolen.Program the Password with up to 6 digits using thenumbers 1 ~ 4.You must enter the Password when reading or writingthe configuration data with the FPU. You must alsoenter the Password when operating the transceiver inSelf Programming mode or using it as the Master inClone Mode.• Entering the Password in Clone Mode or SelfProgramming Mode Using the KeypadMicrophone (KMC-32):Enter the Password via the keypad, then press the[#] key.• Entering the Password in Clone Mode or SelfProgramming Mode Using the keys of thetransceiver:Enter the password using [MON], [SCN], [ ], and[|] keys, then press the [CH DOWN] key.[MON], [SCN], [ ], and [|] keys represents thefollowing numbers.[MON] = 1[SCN] = 2[] = 3[] = 4You cannot overwrite the data in the Clone Modewhen the Data Password is programmed.
