However, communication betweenA and B is possible when using the Talk Aroundfunction as the transceiver transmits using thereceive frequency and Signalling (QT/DQT).4.2.7 ScanThis function allows you to monitor multipleprogrammed Channels in the transceiver for a signal.Press the [Scan] key to begin scanning.Scan pauses to receive a signal when a signalbecomes present on a Channel.The scan function allows you to monitor a high priorityChannel when receiving a call on another Channel.Press the [Scan] key again to exit this function.Refer to “5 Scan Information” for details.4.2.8 Scan Del/AddThis function allows you to select Channels to add toor remove from the Scan List.You can delete unnecessary Channels to enhancethe Scan speed.Press the [Scan Del/Add] key to select whether or notto add (or remove) the selected Channel in the ScanList.Channels that are added to the Scan List areidentified with the A icon.Deleted Channels are skipped when the Scan isexecuted.The Del/Add status for each Channel is stored even ifthe transceiver is turned OFF.Press the [Scan Del/Add] key during Scan to executethe Temporary Delete function.The Temporary Delete function is used to deleteChannels on which Scan pauses.Exit Scan or turn the transceiver OFF to reset thetemporarily deleted Channels to their default state.4.2.9 EmergencyPress the [Emergency] key to enter the EmergencyMode.The transceiver enters the Emergency mode whenthe [Emergency Call] key is pressed for longer thanthe Emergency Key Delay time.Emergency Mode operates according to “Edit >Emergency Information” in the FPU.4.2.10 AUXPress the [AUX] key to switch the AUX (Output)terminal logic.The AUX terminal logic toggles between High andLow each time the [AUX] key is pressed. When theAUX terminal logic is low, the AUX icon appears.The AUX terminal logic level is stored even if thetransceiver is turned OFF.This allows you to control an optional board or anexternal device using the transceiver keys.4.2.11 Horn AlertThe Horn Alert (output) logic function allows theoutput to be switched when receiving a DTMF stringthat matches the programmed DTMF ID code.Press the [Horn Alert] key to activate this function.The “-HA-” icon appears.Press the [Horn Alert] key again to exit this function.Refer to “6.3.10 Horn Alert Logic” for details.4.2.12 Display CharacterThis function allows you to toggle the displaybetween “Channel Name” and “Grp#/Ch#”.Normally, the Channel Name appears on the display.The Channel Number appears when a channel doesnot have a name.You can program this setting in “Edit > ChannelInformation” of the FPU.
