3 Optional Features11 Power On ToneThe Power On Tone sounds when turning thetransceiver ON. Control ToneThe Control Tone sounds when pressing keys orexecuting operations. Warning ToneThe Warning Tone sounds when alerting the user:Time-out timer, TOT Pre-Alert, Transmissionwarning (no TX frequency data, Busy ChannelLockout, Stun).3.2.9 Volume LockThis function allows you to select whether or not tolock the [VOL UP] and [VOL DOWN] keys when theKey Lock is activated.3.2.10 Off Hook DecodeThe Off Hook Decode function allows the radio todecode radio traffic with the microphone in the offhook position. Although the transceiver alwaysdecodes received signals when this function isactivated, it does not decode when the microphone isin the Off Hook position and this function is notactivated. The transceiver decodes when the microphone is inthe On Hook position. Microphone HookThere is a metal hook on the back of themicrophone (KMC-30/KMC-32). The transceiverrecognizes that the microphone is in the On Hookposition when the metal hook is grounded.Normally, the negative terminal of the vehicle’sbattery is grounded to the metal of the vehicle sothat the hook of the microphone enters the OnHook position when it touches a metal portion ofthe vehicle.3.2.11 Data TX with QT/DQTThis function allows you to add a QT tone or DQTcode when transmitting by using the PTT function. The transceiver encodes the QT/DQT codeprogrammed to the Channel when using this function. The transceiver does not encode the QT/DQTprogrammed to the Channel when transmittingwithout using this function.Without using this function, the receiving partyreceives data without unmuting when its SignallingDecode is programmed as QT/DQT. Function Port – PTT (Input)The Function Port remains High when the PTTfunction is programmed to the port. Transmissionbegins when the port becomes Low and endswhen the port becomes High again.3.2.12 Data ChannelThis function allows the transceiver to move to aprogrammed Data Channel when the Function Port towhich the Data channel is assigned switches fromHigh to Low. Function Port (Input) – Data CHThe Function Port remains High when the DataChannel is assigned to the port. The transceivermoves to the Data Channel when the portbecomes Low and it moves back to the previousChannel when the port becomes High again.
