8 Emergency Mode298.1.16 Emergency RecognitionThis function allows you to view the transceiver’sstatus with the dots that appear on the display when itis in the Emergency Mode.The transceiver does not emit any alert tone when theSecret Emergency function is enabled. It isimpossible to know whether or not the transceiver isin the Emergency Mode simply by looking it.With this function, small dots flash on the display tonotify the user that the transceiver is in EmergencyMode.The user can also know that the dispatcher hasreceived the Emergency Call when the unit with theemergency has received the DTMF Ack Code fromthe dispatcher.Note: The display does not change until the transceiverenters the Emergency Mode when the SecretEmergency function is enabled and the EmergencyRecognition function is disabled.Note: You cannot disable the Emergency Recognitionfunction when the Secret Emergency function isdisabled.8.1.17 Emergency Manual ResetThis function allows you to select whether or not toexit the Emergency Mode when the [Emergency] keyis pressed and held for more than 10 seconds.The transceiver exits Emergency Mode whenenabling this function.The transceiver continues automatic transmission/reception until it receives the DTMF Reset Code orthe transceiver’s power is removed when enablingthe Secret Emergency function and the EmergencyPower Switch, and disabling the Emergency ManualReset function.
