Configuring Your Server 4-51IMPORTANT: Note the following for the Reconstruction: Be sure to make backup copy of data and perform ConsistencyCheck before starting Reconstruction. The Reconstruction is disabled in the configuration where severalvirtual disks are defined in one disk group During Reconstruction, the processing rate is decreased due to muchload. The Reconstruction can be performed for the degraded or partiallydegraded virtual disk. However, it is recommended to executeRebuild to recover the virtual disk, then execute Reconstruction. During Reconstruction, do not shutdown or reboot the server. If theserver is shutdown by an unforeseen accident such as powerinterruption, turn on the power again as soon as possible. TheReconstruction is automatically restarted. In some configuration, Background Initialize may startautomatically upon completion of Reconstruction.Ex: Migration with addition for RAID5 virtual diskThe figure below shows an example of adding a single 36GB HDD to a RAID5 virtual diskconfigured with three 36GB HDDs.36GB 36GB 36GB[Before execution]Capacity = 72GBVirtual disk (RAID5)36GB36GB 36GB 36GB 36GBExecute Migration with additionVirtual disk (RAID5)[After execution]Capacity = 108GB
