Power-off the system.2. On the CPC card, take note of the currentarrow position on the CODE rotary switch(you’ll be setting it back to this position afterthe upgrade). Then turn it to:r “2” for New Software Release upgrade,orr “4” for Bug Fix upgrade.3. Insert the PC Card into the slot on the PCUpgrade Kit, with the PC Card’s label facingup.4. Plug the PC Upgrade Kit into the specialconnector (CN3) on the edge of the CPC-96or CPC-288 card. The connectors are shapedso that the Upgrade Kit can plug-in only oneway. (It is not necessary to remove the CPCcard to do this.)5. Power-on the system.r The “MN” LED on the CPC card willfast-blink for a few minutes while thesystem’s Flash ROM is upgraded.r When the upgrading is complete, the“MN” LED will extinguish.6. Power-off the system again.7. Unplug and remove the PC Upgrade Kit from the CPC card.8. On the CPC card, set the CODE rotary switch back to the position it was in beforethe upgrade.9. On the CPC card, press and hold down the MODE button, then power-on thesystem. Keep holding the MODE button down until the “MN” LED starts flashingred. The following events should occur in this order:r The “MN” LED will intermittently flash red. (Release the MODE button.)r The “RUN” LED will flash red.r The “MN” LED will stop flashing.r On installed display phones, “Welcome to DBS” will display.10.
