TASCAM DP-24SD 274 – PreparationStart-up & ShutdownCAUTION• Turn down the volume of the sound monitoring systemconnected to the unit before starting up or shutting downthe unit.• Do not use headphones when starting up or shutting downthe unit. Otherwise, a large noise would cause damage toheadphones or your ears.Starting up the unitPress and hold the STANDBY/ON button on the rear panel for afew seconds.When the unit starts, the startup screen appears briefly followedby the Home screen.Start-up screenHome screenWhen the unit starts up, it defaults to Multi Track modeof the Recorder mode, regardless of the mode used last beforeshutting down.Shutting downMake the following preparations before shutting down the unit.• Stop the recorder. (The unit cannot be shut down during arecording and other procedures.)• Return to the Home screen.• If the unit is connected to a computer, disconnect the USBcable after performing the necessary procedure on thecomputer to disconnect the unit.After making these preparations, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button on the rear panel until the following screen appears.The power is turned off (standby) after the unit completes itsshutdown process, including saving various information fromyour session.CAUTIONWhen the power is on, do not cut the power to the unit by,for example disconnecting the power cord. All settings madesince the last time you saved will not be saved. If you cut thepower while an SD card is being accessed, all recorded songsand data may be damaged and cannot be recovered.NOTEWhen the power is turned off (standby), the currentlyloaded song is saved. When the power is turned on again,the last song used is reloaded in the same state it was whenthe power was turned off (standby). You can even undo andredo previous operations.Setting the date and timeUsing its internal clock, this unit remembers the date and timewhen a song or file is recorded.1. When the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button toopen the MENU screen.2. Use the JOG/DATA dial or the CURSOR (5/b/g/t)buttons to select (green highlight) PREFERENCE, andthen press the F4 (t) button.The PREFERENCE screen appears.3. Use the CURSOR (5/b) buttons to select (blue highlight)Date/Time, and then press the F4 (t) button.The DATE/TIME screen appears.4. Use the CURSOR (g/t) buttons to move the cursor (bluehighlight) to the desire item, and then use the JOG/DATAdial to change the value.5. After making the settings, press the F2 (YES) button toreturn to the Home screen.NOTE• The time indication stops while time being set.• You can automatically add the date you have set tofile names by specifying Song Name Type on thePREFERENCE menu.
