This means thatthe undo function can be used to correct an edit easily. (See“Undoing an operation” on page 40.)Overview of track editingThis unit has the following track editing functions.• COPY/PASTE• COPY/INSERT• MOVE/PASTE• MOVE/INSERT• OPEN (Insert Silence)• CUT (Remove Part)• SILENCE (Erase Part)• CLONE TRACK (Track Duplication)• CLEAN OUT (Delete Track)Editing pointsAmong the track editing functions, COPY/PASTE, COPY/ INSERT,MOVE/PASTE, and MOVE/INSERT use the IN/OUT/TO points asediting points.OPEN, CUT, and SILENCE use IN/OUT points as editing points.These IN/OUT points are the same IN and OUT points usedduring repeat playback.8 IN pointThe IN point is the start point for the part of the track subject totrack editing.Press and hold the MARK SET button and press the IN button toset the IN point at the current position.8 OUT pointThe OUT point is the end point for the part of the track subjectto track editing.Press and hold the MARK SET button and press the OUT buttonto set the OUT point at the current position.8 TO point• The TO point is the current position (current point).NOTEIf you press the JOG PLAY button to enable jog mode, youcan set IN and OUT points with subframe (1/10 frame)precision.Basic editing procedures1. When the recorder is stopped, press the TRACK EDIT buttonto open the TRACK EDIT screen.2. Use the JOG/DATA dial or the CURSOR (5/b) buttons toselect (blue highlight) the desired track editing function, andthen press the F4 (t) button.The corresponding function screen appears.COPY PASTE screen3. Select the setting item value.If there are multiple setting items, use the CURSOR (5/b)buttons to select one, and then use the JOG/DATA dial toset the value.4.
